snow day

Well what a day it has been i had to go to a training thing so set off this morning for the bus as i was on the bus in to town it started snowing and i got a text to say school was closing at 12pm i went to the training place which started at 11am but its was for 2 hours i explained about havin to get back for the kids etc so they have re scheduled it for me for next week. I went for the bus back home and the station was completely covered in snow and full of people some buses had been cancelled luckily my bus was still running sticking to main road only which was ok as the main road is at the bottom of our hill what is normally a 20 min bus ride turned in to a 2 hour trip stuck on the bus for 2 hours packed to rim havin drips come from people who were stood up that had just got on wasnt pleasent but the only way i was gettin home school had kindly dropped my daughter off home where my sister watched her til i got back so didnt have to worry about the kids

This pic is of the hill i have to walk up and down daily twice as hard in the snow if you see that house right at the top behind that little car thats where i have to walk to and the pic is taken half way down the hill so more at the bottom

This is a view from my bedroom window at the front of the house the little cul de sac completly covered

This is the view from the back of the house a big field and houses and buildings all on the other side

Lets see what tommorow brings as i have an app which is very important but if the buses stop running i wont be able to get there

few los

Since my daughter had her accident not really been up to much general back to school and dd has settled in fine in secondry school which is good cos i was worrying a little but thats a mothers job here are a few los i have done over the past week

This first one is done for the sketch over on twisted sketches (sorry cant get link to work) the twist is buttons i have just played safe and used buttons for centres in the flowers but enjoyed doing the lo albeit simple

This second lo was done for the weekly challenge over on uks scrap an obsession use circles and chocolate brown unfortunatly i only got 20pts and couldnt get the brown in anywhere the journalling reads "I have a bit of an obsession with the twilight saga thanks to my sister i dont regret getting hooked it captured my heart and in my heart it will stay"

This third lo was done using sarahs cards peechy keen august kit of my little duck friend i met on holiday in skipsea one day i was sat watching dd play in the park and had this duck come wander around me and it stayed by my side for at least an hour so i fed it and all the other ducks started to follow but this one always close by became my little friend :-)

Stitches are out

Last thursday caitlin had the stitches removed from her head and her is the big scar she is left with at the bottom near to her eye it is weeping a little so they stuck a couple of steri strips on it and we also had concerns about a blister that had formed on her knuckles of the left hand where it was grazed so they dressed it we then went back on sunday and they had another look at it they stuck more steri strips on the head and re dressed the wound on her hand and we now have to go back on thrusday morning as they want to keep an eye on it it is looking quite sore i changed the dressing last night and its pink around the edge and yellow in the middle i cleaned it and re dressed it just have to see what they say when we go on thursday now.

my brave little girl

Well what an eventful few days its been sunday night my daughter was climbimg on a gate and the stone arch fell on top of her cutting her head completely open been in hospital for a few day just come home this morning
This is a pic of the bandage on her head before she had her op done

This is a pic of her head and arm/hand she had a cut on her thumb and grazed her knuckles so they sorted her hand out when they did her head as she wouldnt let anyone touch it

This was taken yesterday after she had her op while we were stying in to see if her temp stayed down

taken this morning before we saw the doc it had swelled up on her left eye so we need to keep an eye on this

This is a close up of her head this is how long the scar will be as it was a big cut a big hole she was very lucky it wasnt any worse than it is it was about 2 inch wide at least she has been very brave throughout it all just hope she has a speedy recovery now

This is a lo for the fridays sketch over on shimelles online crop just a simple but effective lo

I had a look on shimelles blog and decided to give the online crop a go that is taking place over the weekend why not get yourselfs over there and check it out

The first project is create a project using red/white/aqua this is my lo but i dont think i am too keen on the star in the bottom corner didnt turn out how i wanted it to but like the rest of the lo

teacher gifts

I lost my lead for my camera so have only just been able to upload these i made these gifts for dd teachers and teaching assistants

These are stationary boxes i saw these on a blog that was featured on the home page of ukscrappers sorry cant remember the name and thought they would make great gifts so i made 4 of them they are quite easy to do and i enjoyed doing them and they were well appreciated too
